ABOUT

Formerly a small business owner of 5 years, that leveraged an advertising and design background to build a successful dream project, to own and operate a fitness studio. Learning through the growing pains of any small business, I’ve acquired new operating and planning skills that I feel I received a hands on MBA. Being skilled in Typography, Art Direction, Graphic and Web Design through the Miami Ad School (M.AD) was my foundation, that led to future success. Today, I’ve successfully crossed back into the advertising and marketing world with much more experience and confidence.

Having lived in California, France and Brazil I’ve been able to cultivate from various cultures’ qualities in my thinking and creative process. I’ve called South Florida home for most of my life but as Elvis Presley once said, home is where the heart is.

EXPERIENCE

I started my career in 2008 in Paris, France as an intern Junior Art Director at agencies such as Ogilvy and Saatchi & Saatchi. There I was able to work on accounts such as Duracell and Toyota.

State-side I joined Iris Miami also as a Junior Art Director and worked for the Sony Ericcson account and new business pitches for the likes of Adidas. From there I moved on to VMLY&R (at the time it was Y&R/Bravo) and worked as an Interactive Designer working on storyboards and animations for clients such as, FedEx, Hershey’s, Wendy’s, AT&T and Dell computers.

In 2017 I decided to go 100% independent and freelance for agencies and clients I wanted to work with, expand my breath of work and skills. With that I had the opportunity to work with Wasserman for their DirectTV + NFL partnership as an Interactive Designer. At Stanford University I designed a project logo and developed HTML5 animations to translate complex energy data into engaging, accessible visual narratives for web integration.

2018 I joined the Swatch Group as an Art Director and drove creative direction and designs for high-profile global partnerships spanning sports, lifestyle, and e-commerce. Led visual development for Tissot’s NBA collaborations — including NBA All-Star 2019, ambassador promo events, and an interactive Augmented Reality shot-clock experience. Oversaw branding and campaign design for Tissot x MotoGP partnerships, bringing precision and performance to life across digital and event touchpoints. Partnered with global teams to elevate e-commerce design and ensure brand consistency across markets.

In 2021 I pivoted to the pharma advertising industry and joined FCB Health New York as a Senior Art Director and was promoted to Art Supervisor where I directed video productions for Rilzabrutinib (Wayrilz) a Sanofi brand and created concepts using AI text-to-image for new business pitches. I was also responsible for developing creative branded content across multiple platforms, such as print and digital materials for Pfizer. Worked as a team leader for creative presentations while fostering leadership and growth.

Currently I serve as Associate Creative Director of Design at Zimmerman an Omnicom Agency leading concept developments and design execution across diverse national brands — from retail and QSR to entertainment and lifestyle such as Kay Jewelers, Mc Donald’s, Jet’s Pizza and Blue Compass. Also partnered with strategy and new business teams to pitch innovative creative for emerging brands like Celsius and Magic Poop (now Daily Movement), blending cultural insight, design thinking, and storytelling to drive engagement and growth.

Additionally I design and create animations in Procreate for a variety of brands in different businesses such as Salty Donut, Eden Park Miami, Two Hippies supplements, Miami Tennis Championship and others.

WHAT’S GASVAN?

Actually, it’s. a clever way to use my last name. GONCALVES has 9 letters, I separated it into 3 rows and saw that if I criss-crossed (X) it spelled out GASVAN - (mind blown emoji here please). That’s how the name came to be.
